‘Peak of Eternal Light’ takes us on a hypothetical archaeological journey to the Moon. The project features a monumental temple on the South Pole of the Moon and a series of sacred objects and sculptures, establishing an enigmatic material culture yet to be discovered. Masks, offering vessels and other forms of precious regalia invite us to imagine profound lunar rituals, acknowledging the ancestral spiritual dimension embedded within the cosmos.

Aoife van Linden Tol
Star Storm,2017

"The works want to challenge common understandings of creativity and emphasize a posthuman view on the world and its creatures. Common ground is the intervention on membranes. A membrane appears in both the exterior and interior of living beings; in the case of a cell membrane it is part of the smallest building block of life, but it also separates two different states. Further, it is an investigation into the aesthetics and mechanisms of natural growths processes."

Aoife van Linden Tol submitted the idea of a “Star Storm” showcasing the lifecycle and physical characteristics of stars. During her stay at the ESA, she intends to learn more about stars from the organization’s scientists and then channel that knowledge into an “explosive performance.” The “Star Storm” she aims to trigger is to be characterized by the incessant interplay of chaos and order, of meditative calm alternating with energy-charged tension. Her mission is to be informative and simultaneously to awaken strong emotions.
